Problems
Smallholder farmers produce 80–90% of the world’s cacao, yet earn as little as 3–6% of the final chocolate value. In Thailand, thousands of smallholders face the same challenge: high effort, low reward.
The biggest bottleneck is fermentation.
Our Story
GOcacao was inspired by our founder (Finn’s) summer job in 2024 at a leading Thai craft chocolatier. Finn was looking for an opportunity to gain some work experience and learn about something we have loved since childhood – chocolate. After numerous visits to cacao farms and fermentation centers, he came to realise the significance of fermentation in determining the value and flavor of cacao.
